Spiritual
Fruitfulness
Abide in Me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine,
neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the
branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me
you can do nothing.
John 15:4-6 NKJV
If you abide in Me, and My
words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
John 15:7 NKJV
·
Spiritual fruitfulness comes from having the word
of God abiding in you.
·
To abide in Christ is to abide in His word
because He is God The Word (John 1:1)
·
This entails that we do His commandment; to love
one another as He hath loved us.
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the
counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of
sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of
the scornful;
But his delight is in the
law of the Lord,
And in His law he
meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of
water,
That brings forth its
fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not
wither;
And whatever he does shall
prosper.
Ps 1:1-3NKJV
To delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it is to abide in
Christ and His word abiding in you.
·
Walking in the counsel of the wicked
·
Standing in the way of sinners and
·
Seating in the seat of the scornful
These three things prevents you from abiding in His word. The word of
God abiding in you means having the word of God in your heart and in your
innermost being; and this comes by meditating, confessing the word and also
doing it. You cannot be spiritually fruitful and not be prosperous in all you
do i.e. an all and encompassing prosperity.
By two or three witness a thing is established (Deut. 19:15). Let us
look into the third witness.
This Book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that
you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will
make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Josh 1:8 NKJV
What the spiritual fruitfulness that is derived from the word of God
will result is that it also inspires the supernatural knowledge, understanding
and wisdom that enables you to make your way prosperous and have good success.
The three things that can prevent the word of God from abiding in you
and you in the word will also prevent you from observing to act and do
according to the word and also from making thy way prosperous and having good
success. Let go of those things
16 I say then: Walk in
the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the
flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are
contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But
if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident,
which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery,
hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions,
dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like;
of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that
those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
Gal 5:16-23 NKJV
The verse 22-23 gives the absolute description of spiritual
fruitfulness which engenders an all-encompassing prosperity (body, soul and
spirit).
Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8)
With Joy shall ye draw waters out of the wells of salvation (Isaiah
12:3)
The peace of God is able to keep your heart and mind in Christ
(Philippians 4:6-7)
The measure of true growth and maturity is in the extent to which we
bear spiritual fruits. The extent to which we have become Christ, the word and
the manifestation of His Love
… abide in Christ ...
